META & TFIA join hands to launch collaborative textile hub
The Manufacturing Excellence Taskforce of Australia (META), which helps the Australian manufacturing industry evolve with increasing efficiency and competitiveness on a local and global scale, has launched a new collaborative hub, based around the textiles and clothing, in partnership with the Council of Textile & Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA), at the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW), which was held from the 30th August to 7th September, 2014.
The META Textiles Collaboration Hub comprises of 19 participants, representing seven manufacturing companies and six research organisations that include the TFIA, Nobody Denim, Stewart, The Art Clothing Company, Melbourne Made, Bruck Textiles, etc.
The managing director of META, Zoran Angelkovski, said by bringing together manufacturing, research, and application skills, META Textiles Collaboration Hub will help identify and expand the creation of high performance textile products for performance oriented markets within the consumer, industrial, government and defence sectors.
