The European Union was the second largest trading partner of Vietnam
EU and Vietnam finished the negotiation of European Free Trade Association (EVFTA) on December 2nd, 2015 in Brussels, Belgium, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Vietnam.
According to the contact, the European Union and Vietnam will remove tariffs for 90% tax items, which the European Union promised the products from Vietnam could access to EU, including textiles, shoes, agricultural products and wood products. At the same time, Vietnam also promised the products from EU could access to it, which including the machinery and equipment, automotive, alcoholic beverages and some agricultural products. Furthermore, the European Union and Vietnam will adopt tariff quotas or reduce tariffs.
The European Union and Vietnam reached a consensus and would be completed the EVFTA legislative process as soon as possible, the EVFTA will come into effect at the beginning of 2018.

据越南工商部表示，欧盟与越南于2015年12月2日在比利时布鲁塞尔市宣布结束自由贸易协定的谈判。
欧盟与越南自由贸易协定规定，双方将废除约90%的货品关税，其中欧盟承诺对越南开放纺织品、鞋类、农产品及木制品市场，而越南亦对欧盟承诺开放机器设备、汽车、含酒精饮料及部分农产品市场。同时，欧盟与越南还将采用关税配额或关税减免的举措。
