APTMA hails govt for gas supply

Chairman of the Punjab chapter of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA)Aamir Fayyaz has thanked the government for supplying round-the-clock gas to the textile industry at affordable price.
“The Punjab-based textile industry is thankful to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and the Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for availability of gas on affordable price. We appreciate the government for ensuring 24x7 gas supply to the industry,” he said.
He was speaking to the media during the visit of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Managing Director Amjad Latif to APTMA Punjab office.
Fayyaz said the energy flow to the Punjab-based textile industry was restored after a period of six years. Until recently, Pakistani textile mills had been reeling under a massive power shortage.
He claimed that textile exports could be doubled in the next few years from $13 billion to $26 billion if there is an uninterrupted energy supply at affordable rate.
