TEA hails Tamil Nadu's revised Budget

Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) President Dr. A. Sakthivel has welcomed Tamil Nadu's tax free revised Budget which was presented in the Assembly by the state's Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam on Thursday.
In a statement, he expressed his happiness that the Association's long requisition for laying of four lane road between Tirupur and Oddanchatram has been addressed in the Budget.
Dr Sakthivel said that four laning and strengthening of 70 km of Tirupur-Oddanchatram road will help the smooth movement of vehicles and reduce the time to reach Tuticorin port, which is used by Tirupur garment exporters.
The TEA chief also congratulated Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for Tamil Nadu achieving GDP growth of 8.79 per cent in 2015-16.
Dr. Sakthivel appreciated the Government's proposal to train two lakh youth for skill development under Tamil Nadu Skill Development Mission and allocation of a sum of Rs.150 crore for this purpose. He said it is the need of hour for industries to enhance the productivity as well as quality.
