WRAP holds workshop for apparel exporters in Ghana

A one day Worldwide Response Accredited Production (WRAP) certificate workshop for apparel producers was held in Accra, Ghana by the USAID/West Africa Trade and Investment Hub. The workshop shared information on WRAP's certification with garment export companies from Ghana, Nigeria, Benin and Cote d'lvoire to make them competitive in the global markets.

According to Carol Adoum from the Hub, WRAP certification was necessary to make clothing exporters competitive in world markets, as the certification demonstrates an exporters' commitment towards environmental and social standards.

“International brands who import clothing are making it mandatory for companies to have the WRAP certification, from whom they source apparels,” Adoum added, while speaking at the inauguration of the workshop.
