Vietnam's cotton imports decrease 26.23 percent in Sep, 2016

During September, Vietnam recorded imports totalling 75,407 tonnes, according to Vietnam Customs. The corresponding total a year earlier was 102,228 tonnes. As customary, the bulk of supply came from the United States (46,032 tonnes), followed by Australia (13,098). Imports by Foreign Direct Invested enterprises accounted for 72 percent of the total. 
During August and September combined (the first two months of the international cotton season), imports totalled 178,546 tonnes, versus 190,471 during the same timeframe last year. The US accounted for 57 percent of the total and Australia for a further 19 percent.
