Telangana govt to help develop Sircilla Textile Park

The government of Telanagana will help in the development of textile park in Rajanna-Sircilla district. The setting up of the textile park will provide employment to locals, thereby reducing the number of migrant labourers. At a meeting with government officials, Rajanna-Sircilla district collector Krishna Bhaskar took stock of the development of project.

Nearly 26 units are currently closed in the textile park due to delay in getting subsidy. With the aim to establish more units in the park and extension of 50 per cent of financial aid for re-establishment of the closed units, Bhaskar suggested stakeholders to approach Central government for funds. He asked V Ashok Rao, additional director of textile department to prepare a report highlighting the problems being faced by the stakeholders who have established units in the park to produce quality clothes, according to a news portal.

The meeting also focused on various aspects concerning proper functioning of the units such as power, water and the drainage system. Understanding the cost of power units in other states will help in supplying continuous power to the units by installing separate electric line, Bhaskar said.

Nearly 90 per cent of the work pertaining to the water supply in the textile park has been completed at a cost of Rs 2.75 crore. The collector asked the officials of public health department to finish the entire process.
